The Benefits of CPAP Machine

CPAP, or continuous positive airway pressure, is a treatment where mild pressure is used to keep the airways open for people with breathing problems such as sleep apnea. It is also used to treat preterm infants whose lungs have not fully developed and to treat infants with respiratory distress syndrome or bronchopulmonary dysplasia.

CPAP is made up of three main parts: a mask or other device that fits over your nose and mouth, a tube that connects the mask to the machine’s motor, and a motor that blows air into the tube. Some of the CPAP machines from the Cpap Shop have other features as well, such as heated humidifiers.

They are small, lightweight, and quiet, and the noise they make is soft and rhythmic. Sleep apnea can cause interruption of your natural breathing during sleep. The cpap machine then uses compressed air to keep your air passage open, so your breathing continues normally.

The appropriate pressure value is determined through a “sleep study” where patients are observed overnight to gauge the degree of apnea and other sleep problems. Recommendations will then be made as to what pressure value is to be most likely effective. TheCPAPShop.com offers a wide variety of CPAP machines as well as masks and other CPAP supplies.
