Open Source Media PC

Free your TV from Tyranny. With the bevy of hi-res TV content available on the internet these days it's almost time to give your cable TV provider the boot and go internet-only for all your media needs. The Neuros "Link" Open Source Media PC is here to help with your upcoming cable-free transition. Unlike the gaggle of other media playing boxes out there, the Neuros Link is completely open source and not locked into only one provider. Running Ubuntu Linux, the Link connects to your HDTV via HDMI and is ready to stream 1080p video at your command.

One way is to use the built-in Neuros TV software which allows you to type in the show you are looking to watch, then it instantly finds various places you can stream it from. The Link works great with shows from Hulu, NBC and most other streaming video sources. Of course you could also use the preloaded Bit Torrent client to ferret out your own videos if you roll like that. You could plug in an external hard drive loaded with ripped DVD VOB files, AVI movies etc. and play those directly... you've got options. Since Link is loaded with MPlayer, VLC, Xine it will play almost any video format you can throw at it.
